Ferric sulphate is one of the most widely traded water-treatment coagulants, and India — Gujarat in particular — is an established export base for it. Kranti Chemicals has shipped ferric sulphate to overseas customers for years, including long-term supply to international water-treatment companies. This checklist covers what buyers should agree before the first order.

1. Choose the grade: liquid or powder

Liquid ferric sulphateFerric sulphate powder

AppearanceClear to slightly yellow liquidYellow powder
Density / form≈ 1.6 g/cm³Free-flowing solid
Best forPlants with bulk tanks and metering pumpsSites without tank storage; long-distance freight
FreightShips water with the productMore active iron per container

For long sea routes, powder usually delivers more active product per container; liquid saves the customer a make-down step on site. Many buyers run both.

2. Agree the packing

  • Liquid: HDPE drums, carboys or 1,000-litre IBC tanks. Ferric sulphate solution is acidic, so containers must be compatible and securely closed.
  • Powder: 25 kg bags, palletised and shrink-wrapped, or jumbo bags for higher volumes. Moisture-resistant lining matters on humid routes.
  • Marking: confirm label language, batch numbering and any hazard labelling your port requires.

3. Confirm the documents

A standard export shipment from India should come with:

  • Commercial invoice and packing list
  • Certificate of Analysis (COA) for each batch shipped
  • Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
  • Certificate of origin (preferential origin where a trade agreement applies)
  • Bill of lading
  • Any destination-specific certificates, such as drinking-water approvals — agree these before production, not after loading

4. Settle the commercial terms

  • Incoterms: FOB from an Indian port (Mundra, Hazira or Nhava Sheva are common for Gujarat shipments) or CIF/CFR to your port.
  • MOQ: 5,000 kg per grade is indicative for Kranti Chemicals; full-container loads give the best freight economics.
  • Lead time and frequency: for regular consumption, a fixed call-off schedule keeps stock steady and freight predictable.
  • Sampling: request a sample and COA for jar testing before the first commercial order.
